I don’t know why it took me this long to do this… well, OK, I know why. It’s because it was a lot of work. But I’ve finally updated the Characters page on my site so that you can browse through the characters from every one of my videos. You can read what each is wearing, as well as little “behind the music” nuggets of info that I thought of while I was updating the site.
Enjoy.

First off, no Oswald statue for me. As soon as they announced the other nominees in my category, I knew I was dead in the water. In fact, I think this is the second time I’ve gotten beaten by “Divided Soul”. Oh well, as lame as it sounds, it was still an honor to be nominated, and really, since there were only three finalists in each category, I can still tell myself that I got the bronze medal (even though I didn’t get an actual medal).
Other than that, the con was just OK for me. I only had the one ticket and so was bouncing around by myself most of the time. Conventions are more fun when you’ve got a buddy to wander around with. I did get to meet Randy Jordan and (very briefly) Patrick from The Instance podcast, and I also met Starman from the World of Warcast podcast. The dance and costume contests were fantastic as always, and the comedians and concert on the last night was great too.
On the last day, the guys from WeGame.com organized a breakfast for machinima artists, where I got to hang around with Oxhorn and Gorndt from WeGame, Clint from Myndflame, Ian Beckman (who made the Azerothian Supervillains videos), Jun from Stone Falcon Productions (Snacky’s Journal), and Drew from Oblivious Films (The Grind, and The Rumpus Machine, which wontheir category at Blizzcon this year). It’s a cool group of people, and I’m going to try to stay in touch with them more regularly in the hopes of maybe being invited to their cool-guy parties next time.
Because it was just me hanging out with myself most of the time, I don’t have any particularly interesting pictures to post or stories to tell. Sorry everybody. Clint from Myndflame mentioned the idea of maybe actually renting a booth at the next Blizzcon so that all of us machinimists could meet people and hold panels and basically coordinate our time at the con. That sounds like a great idea, and I’ll be looking forward to it if it happens.

Not to be left out of the milestone-crossing fun, “Re: Your Brains” has followed dutifully behind “Code Monkey” and crossed the 2 million view mark this morning. It’s unbelievable!

Unbelievable but true, “Code Monkey” crossed over the 3 million views mark this morning. Woo!
“Re: Your Brains” is at about 1,991,000 views, so it’ll probably be hitting 2 million by the end of the month. And my total number of views for all my videos just recently crested over 9 million. Amazing.
Please, o please, o please let me celebrate this landmark by winning an Oswald at Blizzcon this weekend.

Did you know Blizzcon was this Friday and Saturday, not Saturday and Sunday? I didn’t, until this morning when I was browsing through the convention schedule and noticed that it said Fri/Sat. All along, I’ve been thinking it was Sat/Sun. Thank Jeebus I caught that error today, otherwise I would have be-bopped into Anaheim on Friday, thinking I was a day early, but would have ended up missing half of the convention altogether. That would have been not good.
I guess now that I’m not travelling on Monday anymore, I’ll have to go ahead and take that Java midterm instead, which means I’ll have to study all weekend for the test. At least that’ll give me something to do in my hotel room besides watch porn.

Woo!!!!! I am going to Blizzcon after all! Oxhorn’s tip paid off and I’ve got a ticket waiting for me at will call when I get there. I am so stoked.
It’s going to be kind of a bummer to wander around the convention floor by myself, so I’m totally going to cover myself in “Hi, my name is SPIFF” stickers and “You know, CODE MONKEY?” stickers and see if I can find someone to pal around with. If you’re going to Blizzcon and you see a guy covered in stickers, be sure to walk up and say hi.
Now all I need to do is get a hotel last-minute, and get out of work on Friday and Monday (driving days to and from the Bay Area). Oh, and I’ve got a midterm for my Java class on Monday (no lie). Somehow I’ll figure out a way for it to all work out…
